The Sun looks yellow. Why are sunsets red? Do this activity to find out.
What You Need
- Clear glass bowl
- Water
- Spoon
- Few drops of low-fat milk
- White note paper
- Flashlight
What You Do
- Fill the bowl with water.
- Hold up the piece of paper on one side of the bowl. Hold the flashlight on the other side of the bowl.
- Shine the light through the water so that the light hits the paper. Record what you see.
- Use the spoon to add a few drops of milk until the water looks cloudy.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3. Record what you see.
