Make a Wind Sock

A wind sock tells which direction the wind is blowing from. Hang a wind sock where it catches the wind.

What You Need

  • A medium-sized paper bag
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Decorations (sparkles, stickers)
  • Streamers (tissue paper or cellophane)
  • A thick strip of construction paper
  • Rope or strong string

What You Do

  1. Cut off the bottom of the bag.
  2. Decorate the bag.
  3. Glue streamers around the bottom edge of the bag.
  4. Glue the construction paper around the top edge of the bag.
  5. Use the rope or string to hang your wind sock and test it.
