Sound

Light is a form of energy. Sound is also a form of energy. Sound is energy that can be heard. Sound is made when energy causes an object to vibrate, or move back and forth very quickly. Sometimes you can also feel sound vibrations. You make sound when the vocal cords in your throat vibrate. Try this experiment to feel the vibrations of sound.

1. Tape the paper over one end of the tube.
2. Sing or speak into the other end of the tube.
3. As you sing or speak, gently touch the paper at the end of the tube.
