Static Electricity
Have you ever felt a shock after walking across carpet? That shock comes from static electricity. Try this experiment to see what static electricity can do.
What You Need
- A sink
- A plastic comb
- Medium or long hair
What You Do
- Comb the hair at least ten times.
- Slowly bring the comb close to a thin stream of water. (Do not let the comb touch the water.) Watch what happens to the water.
- Draw the stream of water before the comb got close to it, and after the comb got close to it.
