Get Moving!
Vocabulary
Read the vocabulary terms to understand the reading better.
Movement
Movement is the changing of a place or position.
Objects
An object is anything that has shape or form and can be seen or touched.
When you run around your school yard, you are moving. When you spin around in a circle, you are moving. Jumping and swinging are other types of movement.

Objects move, too. A skateboard can roll. A ball can bounce.

When you move, you change where you are. You might move up or down, or backward or forward.

Sometimes you have to move an object. You have to change where it is. Maybe you have to move a box from outside to inside your bedroom. If the box is light, it is easy to move. But if the box is heavy, you need help.
