You can order numbers from greatest to least using place value.

Order the numbers 1068, 1057, 1090, and 1012 from greatest to least.

1. Compare the numbers starting with the thousands column. Then, compare the hundreds, tens, and the ones columns.

2. Write down the numbers in order from greatest to least.

      The greatest number will have the highest value in the thousands column (or the hundreds column if the thousands are the same, or the tens column if the hundreds are the same).
