Ontario Curriculum Expectation:

6.B2.8 represent and solve problems involving the division of three-digit whole numbers by decimal tenths, using appropriate tools, strategies, and algorithms, and expressing remainders as appropriate


Read the strategy for dividing decimal tenths by a whole number.

Mental Math

For Example: When dividing by 0.001,  0.01,  0.1,  10,  100 and 1000.

65 ÷ 0.001 = 65 000

65 ÷ 0.01 = 6500

65 ÷ 0.1 = 650

65 ÷ 10 = 6.5

65 ÷ 100 = 0.65

65 ÷ 1000 = 0.065
