Being a Page in the House of Commons

Did you know students can work in the House of Commons? Every year, 40 students from across Canada are selected to become Pages in the House of Commons. A Page is someone who works in the legislature as a messenger. Some other duties of a Page include collecting and distributing important documents, and speaking to visiting students about their job.

To become a Page, a person must:

• be a Canadian citizen

• plan to attend full-time university in Ottawa or Hull in September that year

• have an overall average of 80%

• speak both French and English
